Summary

A complete custom software development was to be built from scratch, and we are providing software design and development teams with a repeatable, well-defined pathway to creating and updating it.

01.The Client

As a startup based in Dallas, Texas, Cadynce is focused on developing a process improvement platform to scale businesses and increase productivity.

They wanted to offer their users an AI-enabled solution built around the concepts of citizen development and no-code capabilities. The deliverable would need to allow users to drag and drop the creation of modules, dashboards, and workflows.

The ease of use and quick ROI for customers was a driving component to be able to compete against other legacy Business Process Management tools.

02.The Challenges

Cadynce lacked the internal skills needed to create the MVP themselves and explored both contract offshore and nearshore options but struggled to find the right partner.

Our initial meetings were very productive, and Cadynce decided to outsource the new software development as an end-to-end project with us.

Key success factors include having a tech partner who could handle the design and development for the MVP, but also scale up a DevOps pipeline to continue long after the MVP was created.

As stage 1 was an MVP, it was crucial for Cadynce to:

Have software released regularly and faster (they were looking for agile development).

Be continuously refining development processes.

We faced some challenges in the process, which included:

Choosing the right stack of technologies from the very outset to ensure a solid basis for future improvements (an MVP is created to grow in the future).

Accurate and intelligent management of the backlog.

Avoiding perfectionism to ensure deliveries with the agreed cadence.

Handling budget and time constraints.

03.The Solution

After some requirements meetings, the project started with an initial stage of UX Research & Discovery, where interviews with users, clients, and other stakeholders took place to obtain the best possible solution focused on the user's needs.

During the MVP development phase, we have worked closely with them to propose, analyze and define the best alternative for each challenge to balance the desired results and the budget constraints.

Key deliverables included AdobeXD prototype screens, architectural designs and MVP deliverables into production.

We began implementing Terraform as a DevOps solution when the project grew to 3 development environments - Development, UAT, and Production.

The beta will be ready soon to launched to the market with some of the company's clients.

Web apps

We designed and developed a custom web application focused on customization and extensibility. The site is fully responsive, was developed with accessibility in mind, and takes advantage of the latest web technologies.

Main features developed:

  • Users, Roles & Permissions Management.
  • Workflow creation and management.
  • Modules, Dashboards, and Organization hierarchy creation and management.
  • Robust API engine.
  • Notifications.

04.The Results

We implemented an agile approach to the project and demonstrated value and success in each sprint.

As the MVP phase concluded, Switch transitioned the ownership of the process and develop to Cadynce and shifted involvement to staff augmentation and support.

Cadynce founders highlighted Switch’s proficient project management and how responsive and communicative the team and the company have been.

Testimonial

We were impressed by the culture and the ease of working with the entire team.
